  1. ABSOLUTELY adored your use of videos you talk over and visually show things that he had accomplished. By far my favorite was the clip of the first person acknowledging Jessie Owens efforts when he beat him in the jump. Something I think you could have done better for next time would be to include less text on your slides so I am only listening instead of reading along the slides with you. I find presentations that don't have a lot of text to be much more engaging.

  2. I thought you guys had a very good presentation. The videos you guys used were really cool because you could get a feel for what it was like at that time and you could see how fast he really was. You guys did a good job of portraying the hardships that he faced being an African American runner during racism and the time of the Holocaust. I believe your presentation would have benefited if there was fewer texts on each of your slides.

  3. The power point was really well done. Videos were included and also the slide shows looked pretty clear for me to visualize. I learned a lot from this presentation; at first I didn't know Jesse's real name was actually James. Also the clip showing Jesse Owens winning a race against Hitler's "Aryan" race was pretty interesting. Since you guys knew and covered a bunch of information on Jesse Owens, it would be helpful if the slides displayed fewer texts.

  4. I also really liked the way you used the videos, and how you explained who he was and what he did. Basically a person who liked what he did and was good at it and did it because he enjoyed it, and didn't let racism or others get in his way, and went on to pursue greatness in what he did. Something you might have been able to do better might be talking a little more about his life growing up, how his being so close to slavery effected him, etc.

  5. I really liked how you showed how many accomplishments he did! I never knew he did so much, I also loved how humble he stayed about it. I liked that you pointed out how he had to work for everything, starting out as a cotton picker to an Olympian is quite a story. One of the only things I would have changed would be to make the font on the slides a little bigger or bolder.

  6. I enjoyed your videos, but what I really thought was interesting was how Jesse Owens, being the track star he was started to work ordinary jobs. That was interesting to me because I guess he was still working class even with all his fame. Another great aspect of the presentation is when you compared him to the two other runners. How they united there arms to stand up for black power was interesting. I enjoyed the videos, but my only thing that could have been better would be sound. I know some people might disagree, but I think the sound would make it more captivating.

  7. I thought you guys did a nice job on explaining who he was and what his vision was. Your use of videos in the presentation was also well done. I agree that with all the information being thrown at us leaving some less crucial info off the slides might help.

  8. I thought the presentation was very interesting, the transitions between talking and the videos helped shed light on Jesse Owens' achievements. I liked how much background info you gave on him, you really dived deep into his humble roots. An issue I saw was reading off of the powerpoint a little too often. I also wish that you would have used filler words less often. Otherwise, I thought it was enjoyable and was really interested in the comparison with the runners who were also civil rights activists.

  9. I really enjoyed this presentaion because i have always been a big fan of Jesse Owens and knew a lot about him going into this. There were a few things you taught me about him though. I really liked the quote from him that you had. However I think there were a couple great things you left out. I think you used the note card/powerpoint a little too often but other than that good job.

  10. You guys did a great job on your topic. It is so interesting that he went to OSU! He defiantly beat the odds against him. It would have been neat to hear about the coach that gave him a chance and what impact having a black runner on the college level made. You guys did a great job. I am interested in learning more about him. (o:

  12. You both did a fantastic job telling Jesse Owen's story. I had no idea that he went to Ohio State, let alone that he was the worlds fastest man. You gave a lot of background information and showed us that even when he wasn't fully "free" he still went abroad and positively represented our country in the Olympics. The only suggestion I have is watch saying the word "Like" so much when speaking to an audience. Other than that the presentation was very informational and I enjoyed it!
